We started to make a prototype of the physical look of our potential outcome. We went to Gordon Harris and restocked some of the paper and binding materials.
Characters choices
I selected a list of Chinese characters that are significant to the language/meaning. The number of characters is going to be around 30. I will be going to craft these characters and their respective historical form(shapes) for better control of the expression and consistency.
Poster work
The feedback from this week gave me a challenge, to make a poster alongside the publication. At his stage, I am still heavily focused on prepended research. Thus, The actual physical works are few. But, after Week7, I will begin testing with layouts and typography.
The poster I have a few ideas as of now. I’ll need to look into more cases for references.
I will try to print on them with an inkjet printer and laser printer to test the integrity of the ink and the visual appearances with the different print methods. I might also try some cutouts and paint over with acrylic paint to gain some texture to the paper.
Binding & Paper choice
I printed colours and typefaces on different textured and speciality paper.
